Senior Citizens have been dislodged in the nuclear family. They are left to fend for themselves. Their children consider them a liability. BECC brings them together twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday when they relax in each other's company, sharing their joys and sorrows. About 150 people in the age group of 55 to 60 belong to this group and attend the meetings regularly. Health issues, rights of senior citizens and other related matters are discussed and they are made to feel they belong here. BECC staff visits their homes and spend time with them.

Medical facilities are availed by the Senior Citizens. They are health conscious and should they need to see a doctor, they visit the Centre without hesitation. 13 of them needed to remove cater acts and were given financial and moral support. Many needed spectacles and were helped.

Income Generation Programme

Our Senior Citizens have been encouraged to make envelopes, rakhis and garlands. These are sold in the market and the profit is shared among them. This gives them a sense of self-worth and a lot of confidence.
