Bandra East Community Centre (BECC), established in 1974, is a registered voluntary social work organization (NGO) catering to the socio-economic development of the slums and pavement dwellers. The first major project taken up by BECC was the rehabilitation of the slum now called Siddharth Colony. BECC is surrounded by a slum population of about 1.5 million. Over the years, BECC has grown in strength both in terms of work and staff. BECC has 24 staff members and more than 20 volunteers who work tirelessly to realize its vision.
BECC conducts a number of Awareness, Educational and Developmental programs. It renders its services to all the needs irrespective of caste and creed.

There is a constant feedback process between the governing body and the grass root level staff to meet the needs of the under privileged. Although we encounter various problems and hindrances in achieving our goals, we remain focused on what needs to get done.

The progress we have made so far has been due to the untiring support of our sponsors, management and partners. As we learn and improve through our experiences, we have also started looking at other projects, which will be in line with our goals and vision. These include a hostel project, micro finance support etc.
We touch people’s lives everyday and provide an opportunity for people and the communities to improve their lives. However, challenges continue to remain and we are committed to resolve them.
We continue to appeal to our sponsors and well wishers to support the BECC as it continues to remain vigorously committed to society and self development. Your contributions and supports help us to mitigate somebody’s hardships and sorrows. Your visit to our centre at any time to see how we work day to day and the kind of impact it has on the lives of people.
Look forward to your support and good wishes.
